In this comical tale of love, hope, and rejuvenation, Lotty and Rose feel that 1920s London post World War I seems as gray and dreary as their tepid marriages. When the two frustrated wives discover a chance to rent an Italian villa for a month, they resolve to make their getaway without their unappreciative husbands. With the company of a proper mature Englishwoman and a beautiful, mysterious socialite, Lotty and Rose set out for a holiday that will change their worlds forever. There, in a sunlit chateau on a remote Italian island, the women reclaim their lives with friendship, tears, laughter and a renewed appreciation of their distant husbands. After some unexpected arrivals at the villa, the four may not be the only ones transformed during this enchanted April.
