Tony Award-winning playwright William Gibson's stirring biographical drama about Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir examines her transformation from Russian immigrant to American schoolteacher to a leader of international politics. The one-woman show follows the trajectory of her life focusing on the 1973 Yom Kippur War, an event in which Israel is attacked by Egypt and Syria. Golda Meir deals with the crisis, a moment that could in fact change world history, while she reflects back on her own rise to power, moving between her life in world politics and recollections of her family and acting out scenes and mimicking voices, from her husband to King Abdullah of Jordan.

Each season, Indianapolis Civic Theatre offers curriculum-based weekday performances of a full-scale mainstage production to area schools, providing students with an extraordinary interdisciplinary theatre experience that will enhance lessons in literature arts, social studies, dramatics, history and other subjects. Schools planning to visit the Theatre receive classroom study guides that include in-depth curriculum associations in addition to pre- and post-performance activity ideas and projects. The materials will assist teachers in engaging their students in the live theatre experience.
